I have not posted in six weeks. I have lots to report and even more to gloss over so I'll go ahead and gloss over everything. Not really. Over Thanksgiving I found myself in Dhaka, Bangladesh. I did some makeup over there, mostly my own, and on a couple of friends, Lauren and Mira. Since coming home I find it difficult to shop at H&M due to the fact that most of their clothes are made in Bangladesh, and if sold to me in Bangladesh, they'd be a heck of a lot cheaper than in America. Hence, I can't force myself to pay "american cheap" on those clothes anymore because it feels too expensive. I sprained my ankle on my first day in Dhaka but I was not deterred from enjoying the city.
Upon returning to NYC from Bangladesh, due to my jet-lag it has been difficult to readjust. It may also have something to do with the weather's attempt to turn into winter, it is flip-flopping from spring-winter-winter-spring on alternating days, even though Christmas is in four days. This strange weather is making my already sensitive skin, very confused. I had to go get one of my favorite sensitive skin products; a Balancing Infusion that Aveda makes. An oil that costs just over $20 for 10 ml, which lasts me about a year.
A few days ago I worked on a photo shoot for a bag company with friends, Jason (the photographer) and Lacy (of Tease Salon). It was bags, makeup, bags, makeup, bags and then some more bags for nine hours. The models were good girls and it was fun to be working with friends.
So Many things have been a blur since I last posted, such as, I don't know if I posted any of the professional L. Flook shots from the Oddities shoot or if I have shown off any of the amazing photos of my "brides" yet. Maybe I'll save those for the website. Everything is blurry. I think it's this holiday business that makes it this way. There is way too much retail hustle and bustle, too much pressure, not enough money to fulfill the retail dreams I have for my friends and family... all I really want for Christmas is a giant snow storm to stop it all; BIGGER THAN LAST YEAR.
